Service Projects We Support
Armed Forces Service Center at the MSP Airport (www.mnafsc.org)
As a chapter, we support the Armed Forces Service Center with a monetary donation. Many of our members also are volunteers at the Center and either work a regular shift or cover a four-hour shift as needed. The Center (which is located in the Lindbergh Terminal on the mezzanine level above the main ticketing area) is open 24/7 and is a very comfortable place for active-duty military personnel, their dependents, activated reservists, or national guardsmen to spend time between flights.
Sew Much Comfort (www.sewmuchcomfort.org)
We help them in their efforts to design, create and deliver customized clothing for injured troops. This clothing is designed to accommodate medical devices and to aid in regaining personal independence, while minimizing the visual impact of the medical condition, which helps troops to maintain their dignity. We sew (or prepare clothing for sewing), as well as help with both material and monetary donations.
Fisher House (www.fisherhouse.org)
The Fisher House™ Foundation donates "comfort homes," built on the grounds of major military and VA medical centers. These homes enable family members to be close to a loved one at the most stressful times - during the hospitalization for an unexpected illness, disease, or injury. We support the our local Fisher House with monetary donations, as well as donations of household supplies, and items that make family stays more comfortable.
